Project summary - MUGA Refurbishment
This project delivered a complete transformation of the school’s existing sports court, creating a vibrant and professional Multi Use Games Area.
Through the installation of a new macadam surface and high-performance sports coating, the facility has been revitalised, providing pupils with a safe and visually striking environment for sport and physical activity.

The brief
The existing court surface had deteriorated and was no longer providing the performance or appearance expected. A MUGA Refurbishment was needed.
The school wanted to:
Restore the sports court to a high standard
Improve safety and surface performance
Introduce new sports markings
Extend the life of the existing facility
Create a visually impressive sports space
Maintaining the existing fencing while upgrading the surface was a key part of the project.

Our solution
Our solution focused on delivering a full MUGA surface upgrade while retaining the existing fencing infrastructure.
The existing surface was fully prepared before installing a new macadam sports surface, followed by the application of a specialist anti-slip sports coating and new line markings.
Key features
New 30mm macadam MUGA surface course
Anti-slip sports coating system in green
Netball court markings
Drainage improvements
Reinstatement of existing fencing
Design Approach
The design focused on creating a professional, high-performance sports surface that would provide long-term durability and safety.
Careful preparation of the existing base ensured proper drainage and structural performance. The new sports coating not only enhances the visual impact of the space but also provides essential grip for safe sports use.
The finished result creates a clearly defined and highly functional sports facility.

Materials & surfacing
A new macadam sports surface was installed to provide a strong and reliable foundation for the MUGA.
This was finished with a specialist anti-slip sports coating, designed specifically for sports courts. This coating provides:
Enhanced grip and safety
Improved durability
Professional sports performance
A vibrant and attractive finish
New netball court markings were applied to complete the facility.
Installation
Works included full preparation of the existing court, drainage improvements, installation of new macadam surfacing and application of the sports coating system.
The existing fencing was carefully removed and reinstated as part of the works.
The project was delivered efficiently, completely revitalising the sports area.
